***** Hi there! If you are looking for a way to find out what happened to your missing iphone after it was gone for days, weeks, or even months, this is the article for you. This one is on how to find out if your phone is lost or stolen. There are many ways to do this, but sometimes it can be difficult due to lack of access on the phone. First of all I will go over some simple steps that anyone could use in order to help you narrow down where your phone might be - then I will give some more advanced options that require more effort but also have a higher chance of success. This article is designed to show you multiple options. I will be talking about how to find the approximate location of the phone/SIM card via Google maps, how to retrieve email, attachments or texts sent with out even entering your password or passphrase on the iPhone (this only works with jailbroken iPhones), how to trace your stolen phone, what does apply if you are using Icloud on your iPhone and several other options. If you are lucky enough to still have access to your email account, then there are some easy steps that can be taken in order to narrow down where your phone might be. The first place that you might want to check is recent logins for this email address. In order to do this you want to go here: your email provider from anywhere else, enter your email account and password. Not the password for the iPhone, but for your email. (This should be the same information that you use on other sites like Facebook or twitter) Once you are logged in it is time to view recent logins. You can look under either "recent activity" or "activity". Near the top of this page will be a list of IP Addresses used along with their location (this should look like a zip code). If you notice that your IP address is different than where the phone last registered (this is also found on the find my phone site) then there is a good chance that the person who stole your phone has plugged it into their computer. If this is the case, they will most likely be using your email account to check their spam folder. This information alone does not help much because email can be accessed through multiple locations (but it does narrow down some options). To see if they are indeed looking for emails with out authorization, you need to set up an email filter. Go back to your mail inbox and select "filters" at the top right corner of your screen. You need to scroll down and select "see all". There you will see a setting called "allow for this domain". Select this, then go back to your other accounts. This will allow you if the person who stole your phone is doing the same thing - they are looking at other accounts that belong to you. If however, the person has already deleted their other accounts (since they are using your email account) then they might be looking in an area where they have no access to. Another area that I think is important to mention here, but requires more advanced measures, is iCloud. There are two ways in which iCloud can help you recover information on an iPhone: secure note and recently deleted notes.
